  • I dreamt of Poster Girls...

Disclaimer: Quite a lot of pictures ahead!!!

I love Fridays! Cos my system simply REFUSES to work on Fridays! Went to see my supervisor at 11am to borak kosong, crap with Joseph at the library's Learning Hub, went to Hudson's for coffee with MY GANG (lol!!! if they read my blog, I'm dead meat!) Lynette, Nurul, Joel and Ain, my turn to cook dinner and now baking banana cake. In a nutshell: I touched my notes but I didn't read them (guilty pleasure!). Haha! TAK SESUAI BETUL INI PERANGAI!!!! lol!!!

Everyone did a GOOD job!! Considering that this is our first time doing a professional scientific Case Study Poster. The last time I did a poster was when I was in high school ke apa. Haha. If I had to choose 5, I'll say I like Ivy's, Lynette's, Rachael's, Robbie's and Annalise's poster. I failed to get shots of Robbie's and Annalise's. Darn it! It was my bad... I cam-whored too many times with our posters and left hastily cos we wanted to dig into the finger foods served!! As Lynette said, "We're Asians!!". HAHAHAHA! *just kidding *

    As promised...

Ivy's poster on G-6-PD. I actually wrote down the following comment for Steve's poster feedback thingy: "Good use of "feminine" colour". Haha! The pink she used was not the HOT PINK garang (fierce) type but PINK COMEL (cute) type... Haha! Lucky I ada baca her poster, a question on it came out in the PROFESSIONAL exit exam siut!! Terima kasih, Ivy cyg! Oh ya, I have to credit our course mate, Ma Le for snapping the blood film pic for Ivy. Nanti dia marah...

    Lynette's Breast Tumour poster.....

Ok... *Choi infinity!!* That sounds SO WRONG!! I'll rephrase it: Lynette's poster on Breast Tumour!

Ah! Baru betul! Kureng! I love the fact that she used the Pink Ribbon! That had reinforced the poster's main theme! The pictures of the tumour are also GREAT! Very graphic!

How cun is this?! I've not seen a breast mastectomy before. According to the poster, the tumour was underneath and it was measured at 7.5cm X 7cm X 6cm. Thick sial!!

The proud "artist" and her masterpiece! This pose reminds me of Vanna White of Wheel of Fortune! Haha!

Ivy looks like a tourist posing with posters/arts from the science center or art gallery! LOL!!! The SLING bag REINFORCED the touristy look! Haha  You know I still cayang u kan? Hahaha!

I joined in the fun! Haha. SIBUK!!!

I like Rachael's poster!! Actually I like the case a lot! Hehe. Ok... ok... I'm BIASED! I love Blood Transfusion! *lalalala* Hehe! Rachael cun ah.... hehe!! Keji!

:) Yours truly's Dengue Fever poster! Number 7! This number means a lot to all Man United supporters! Hehe...

The "artist" gives his thumb up to his masterpiece! *bangga dengan perasaan tak tau malu* Haha!!

Ah! I was still in a daze! It hasn't sunk in... yet She's one of the lab representatives.

Congratulations and well done to Ms Rachael (Best Overall Biomedical Science Student Year 2008) & Mr. Ng (Best Case Presentation).

Yeay! I would like to thank Dr. Remesh Kumar (UKM), Dr. Richmond Loh (Perth), soon-to-be Dr. Dinesh, Diana  , Felicia & Gribbles Malaysia for their guidance and advice in the design and scientific/medical contents of this poster. Diana! Dah berjaya!! Kekeke! I ingat lagi kata- kata you!

    Robbie!!!

Kawan rapat & ketat istimewa... LOL! Semakin panjang titlenya!

These two girls are my pillars of strength!! Thanks for the support, advice and undivided love!!

Teruk betul... We cam whore kao kao sama that paper. LOL!!!

Right... The presentation! I'm ok when I'm not in the spotlight. However, when the spotllight shines, public speaking becomes my public enemy. My case presentation wasn't great and for sure it didn't make the top 5! BUT! I'm proud and satisfied because I presented without a script for the first time ever and for the first time ever I felt comfortable up there! Hehe... This was a really good exposure and training for me From the feedback session, I was told that I may have spoken too fast and that my average mark was about 7.5/10. I'm glad that I've improved. It only improves with practice. With all due respect, I thought Annalise presented her case very well and I admire her professionalism!!!!

Nonetheless, kita angkut 2/3 titles! Caya laa! Lynette said it well, "Asian Pride!". However, Ivy took it further and said it even better: "MALAYSIA BOLEH!" *tersangat bangga* . "KDU Boleh!" pulak mcm mana???!! Siapa nak laung? Hehe! We wished Cherlyn, Carmen and the rest of the KDU gang were here!!

The next time you step into the doorway of 5, Esprey St., REMEMBER to:

    "Look LEFT!!!"

    Hehe!!
